Day 3 – Cloud Gazing | Self-Care Awareness Month With The Feminine Code

Day 3 – It’s cloud gazing.  Wow! What a practice to experience.  I have not paid that much attention to the clouds as an adult as I did today.

Cloud gazing is a past time that I remember doing as a child.  Laying in the grass, gazing up at the sky and having fun with my friends in Richmond Park or on the big green in the village where I lived.

I must admit cloud gazing was not something that we ever gave a name to.  It was just this thing that most kids did to pass the time away.  It was fun to look up at the sky and notice the different shapes that you could see, whether it was angels wings, a dog or a horse, (to be honest, these were common shapes we would see).  Cloud gazing was a past time that I really took for granted as a child, yet today I learnt to appreciate it as an adult.

With the great British weather we had today it was very difficult to find really good cloud formation. However, I still went out on a mission to seek out some decent clouds and so my cloud hunting trip began.  I took pictures of a few clouds but only managed to be captivated by this image.  I found the darker shaped cloud on the left-hand side seemed like it was gliding across the sky swiftly, reminding me of a UFO on a slow journey through the sky.

At first I thought cloud gazing was a new experience for me, but then afterwards I remembered doing it as a child.  There are so many things that we did as kids ,but forgot as adults.  Some of these past times gave us so much pleasure yet we forget all about them until we are reminded about them, from taking part in a practice like this.  I can honestly say cloud gazing is something that I will continue with in future.  It was such a calming experience to gaze up to the sky exploring the shapes of clouds with intention, watching how they move, separate, gather and form interesting shapes and colours for us to enjoy, appreciate and be intrigued by.

I can definitely see myself cloud gazing again in the future to find some peace and calm in my days.  In fact I didn’t even know cloud hunting is an actual thing.  Apparently a lot of people do it regularly.  If you are interested in seeking out this community of cloud gazers, use hashtag #cloudgazing #cloudhunting on twitter or instagram and you will be pleasantly surprised by the many beautiful photos you will discover, shared by cloud gazing enthusiasts.

Do you cloud gaze?  I would love to hear your thoughts.
